The Proctor’s Theater is the historic “Crown Jewel” of downtown Schenectady. Work included expansion and technical upgrade of the main stage house. In addition, the adjoining building, the former Carl Company, was renovated to contain the main stage support for Proctor’s Theater as well as a new 450 seat Black Box Theater with large format imaging, such as IMAX and IWERKS. TW&A represented the Schenectady Metroplex Authority’s interest in this project which included budget and schedule review.

TW&A facilitated comprehensive project coordination meetings in order to develop team oriented project environment. This unique and appealing hardscape design maximizes the use of outdoor space through the addition of a seat wall, raised tree beds, patio area with benches while showcasing an existing art sculpture.

This project was time sensitive due the coordinated revitalization of the Lower State Street hardscape including new sidewalks, granite curbs, decorative light poles and asphalt roadway.
TW&A’s scope included advising on project design and development, contract negotiations and project oversight while coordinating construction logistics and activities. TW&A also provided an interface between the contractor and the City of Schenectady, as well as property and business owners.
